The 5 most common mistakes in buying toys:

As a toy store we see toys, many toys. But also many people who buy toys of course. Now it's fun at our cozy shop that we can often chat with our customers and also see the children playing. From that experience we have tried to find out what the most mistakes are when people buy new toys. If you read this, you will not make those mistakes anymore!

1. Toys that are too difficult.

Startgames different levels of toys
"Smartgames" are challenging games, from very easy to very difficult.
The one puzzle is not the other one, it's also with company games , knickers ... just call it up. It goes without saying that a puzzle with only a few pieces is simpler than that for an adult. It is therefore extremely important that you adjust your toys to the level of the child . Here, however, we regularly see that toys are chosen that are actually too difficult . This has its disadvantages, for example, your child will be motivated and not willing to play with it. Of course, it's a pity if you know that playing is so incredibly important. It is therefore useful to always look at the recommended age. Of course, your child may be very good at puzzling and playing less well in a game, as well as taking part in your choice.

2. Toys are educational but not "training".

Toys, however, are always extremely educational. Some toys are something more than another (for example, educational toys ). It can therefore be very useful to update a backlog via play. Does your child have some difficulty with language? Then it can definitely make progress. But here you are well aware of this: keep the level low enough. When it's not too difficult it will be fun and your child will want to play it more often. If you make difficult language exercises, then it becomes an assignment. Who do they already have enough at school, right?

3. Every child is different

The doll houses of "Haba Little Friends" are ideal for "players", but a knicker job is much more fun for a "builder".
Why is there actually such a wide range of toys ? Well, not to make the toy difficult, but because every child is different . For example, take the following difference: Is your child a " builder " or " player "? A "builder" is a child who likes to put things together, a "player" is another child who is more in a fantasy or imitation world. It goes without saying that with the construction of toys you can enjoy a child who likes to live in a fantasy world. So please observe your child: how does it play? This way you can find suitable toys. Fortunately, there are toys that combine the best of both worlds. Think of the trains of Brio or theHaba racetracks for the youngest. Builders want to build intricate circuits or constructions, the players will then experience the world of trains all sorts of adventures. In the video below, you will see how the Haba knicker job works, a combination of both spectacle and building

4. A lasting challenge

A wooden knicker job (such as the one of Cuboro) always offers a challenge. For young and old!
Advertising, flashing packages ... all play in what your child would like to have. Unfortunately, there is a lot of toys that are very "off". This offers little challenge. Often, such toys are very fun at first, not to be matched, so you can go on for hours. Unfortunately, soon it will be exciting and challenging, that's a pity. For example, take a cranking path that would completely collide with the most spectacular loopings, curves, catapults ... sounds awesome! But after a day of juggling through hunting you will be rap beu. Fortunately, you do not come across such knuckles, but you'll see the jobs that you put together and make it different. That's just a challenge and exciting!

5. Let your child choose

Do not try to induce your child. How beautiful or fun you like that doll or other puzzle, if your child apparently does not find it, it will rarely be a big success. Either because your child does not really like it, but maybe because it is protesting against you. Of course, you make a budget, because a child in a toy shop will in most cases do very much!
What you have at hand is of course the choice of the toy store for example. A child is less aware of what toys will be broken quickly or can last for a long time.
Fortunately, these mistakes are not made so often. But we already think that you are doing well with the above tips. Did you find this interesting? Do you have questions or something to say here? Then respond to the bottom and share it with your friends!

First orchard of Haba: tested!

I'm from a family of real gaming fans.  And then I do not mean 'games', but the  old school  companions  games  .  Cozy but fanatic with all around the board.  And now that I am a mother of a toddler and a toddler, I have discovered that there are also a lot of fun games for that age.  For example, we learned a little while ago about Haba's First Orchard.  A game by which my boys are now also infected with the game virus. Win together or lose together Eerste Boomgaard is the perfect game to announce your children with games.  The rules of the game are easy to understand and for a two-year-old child.  What I like so much is that you do not play against each other but with all of them.  There are four stuffed fruit trees to be picked empty before the raven reaches the orchard.  The fruit can be picked by throwing a dice.  Throw green, then you put an apple into the basket, with blue a plum and so on.  But if y...

Let's Play Out!

It has been a trend for some years, but children are less likely to play outside.  That's not a good news because playing outside is not only healthy and educational but also fun.  Let's all play together together! How often do children play outside?  And how does that happen? If we can believe British research (read well: British, which does not apply to Flanders and the Netherlands)  , children are on average less than prisoners.  For example, 26% of children in question would play out for less than half an hour a week.  That's really little.  This trend would be explained by various causes.  On the one hand, it appears that parents are more cautious and see more dangers in outdoor games, on the other hand, electronic toys such as tablets are an attractive alternative for children to simply stay in.  Some researchers also say that more school work leads to less outdoor games.  A lack of safe playgrounds or a quiet street does not ...
