Back to school: 12 tips!

back to school: 12 tipsAlmost, it's almost September 1, which brings the start of the new school year right away. Some kids go to class for the first time, others have already been outdated and look forward to returning their boyfriends and girlfriends. High school also means regular return. But sometimes also extra stress and hassle, because everyone has to be delivered to the school gate on time to work afterwards. We already give some tips to start the school year and keep coming!
  1. Just make it yourself to finish all school supplies the night before. Do not forget about the clothes your children need to attract. It causes much less stress in the early morning routine.
  2. Now you're up to now, do the breakfast too. That's a big deal again.
  3. Put the bag together with your child so that she knows what is in it. A prepared person is worth two, even in children.
  4. Highlight all important school days in the calendar. For example, when the kids have to swim (and so have to take their swimming equipment) or have an extra day off. For example, you will not be surprised (and red jaws). back to school: 12 tips
  5. Do not worry about that first schoolweek. Which is especially important to get to know everything and just to be on the new school year? So please rest your children. It is logical that everyone, including us, should get used to the new structure and situation. Within a week, you'll be completely (back) and your crucifix, of course.
  6. Did you not yet provide all school supplies? Then you're lucky this year because 1 September falls on friday so you have time to get everything on weekends. Extra time gains are created by shopping last minute online.
  7. Think about shelter before / after school: Do you need shelter, who can take care of them, are they going to attend extracurricular activities and who does they bring?
  8. Do not forget to label everything your child takes to school, and then we really mean everything. Not only the bread box, backpack and for example pencil bag. It is also interesting to label things like the jacket, hat, etc. Because believe me, those children succeed in losing everything really. back to school: 12 tips
  9. For the first time to school or to a new school? If possible, plan your visit beforehand or just go to the school gate. Tell your child extensively about what to happen and what to expect from school. Are your kids going to school by bike? Beforehand, put the road together.
  10. Children are usually starved after school. So try to be careful about meals so you do not have to go to the store with a starved gang. Try to build a regular routine in the evening so that everyone gets into bed on time. If there is an acute crisis situation, keep repeating yourself that it is fatigue. (And keep breathing, haha.)
  11. Let your children help where they can. Depending on how old they are, it's no harm to give them tasks. For example, help clear the evening or make the school bag ready.
  12. No matter how much homework is there, do not forget to let the children be a child. After a whole day of effort, they definitely deserve play and relaxation. Still shuffling in the garden, after school to the playground, telling them extensively, reading a book together, ... To the extent possible, this must be possible.
With these tips you are already on your way, is not it? But realize that there are times when you are threatening to get late (or late), your children do not want to cooperate, there is an extra file, you do not see it in the evening to exchange that place in the seat for the finishing school supplies, ... At such moments it is important to realize that we all do something and there is no such thing as the perfect school routine, so relax and keep breathing. It's definitely all right!

First orchard of Haba: tested!

I'm from a family of real gaming fans.  And then I do not mean 'games', but the  old school  companions  games  .  Cozy but fanatic with all around the board.  And now that I am a mother of a toddler and a toddler, I have discovered that there are also a lot of fun games for that age.  For example, we learned a little while ago about Haba's First Orchard.  A game by which my boys are now also infected with the game virus. Win together or lose together Eerste Boomgaard is the perfect game to announce your children with games.  The rules of the game are easy to understand and for a two-year-old child.  What I like so much is that you do not play against each other but with all of them.  There are four stuffed fruit trees to be picked empty before the raven reaches the orchard.  The fruit can be picked by throwing a dice.  Throw green, then you put an apple into the basket, with blue a plum and so on.  But if y...

Let's Play Out!

It has been a trend for some years, but children are less likely to play outside.  That's not a good news because playing outside is not only healthy and educational but also fun.  Let's all play together together! How often do children play outside?  And how does that happen? If we can believe British research (read well: British, which does not apply to Flanders and the Netherlands)  , children are on average less than prisoners.  For example, 26% of children in question would play out for less than half an hour a week.  That's really little.  This trend would be explained by various causes.  On the one hand, it appears that parents are more cautious and see more dangers in outdoor games, on the other hand, electronic toys such as tablets are an attractive alternative for children to simply stay in.  Some researchers also say that more school work leads to less outdoor games.  A lack of safe playgrounds or a quiet street does not ...
